Get the lowdown on our founder: lora greene

with these 10 fun facts!

Making the decision to work with a travel advisor is a hugely personal decision.  You have to not only trust that person with your time, money & vacation days, but you also have to align with them on a personal level.

To help you get to know our founder & principal advisor better, we thought it would be fun to share10 fun facts about Lora Greene:

  1.  It’s Lora, not Laura.  People ask about the spelling all the time.  My mom claims that she wanted to name me Lora, but call me Lori, & she didn’t like the spelling of Laurie.  As it turns out, I wasn’t a Lori so they never called me that anyway.

  2. I was a lawyer for more than a decade.  A healthcare litigator to be specific.  I loved crafting my client’s defense, putting together all the pieces of the story through the evidence and client meetings & then backing it up with the appropriate legal authority.  An art that translates really well to my success as a travel advisor.  I love listening to my clients’ unique travel needs & desires and then crafting the most beautiful journey for them, all while handling every detail.

  3. I lived in Australia for 6 months while I attended University of New South Wales.  While I was there, I traveled all throughout Australia (including Tasmania) and New Zealand.  It is one of my favorite life experiences.

  4. I have to exercise just about everyday or I start to get a little crazy.  Movement is my meditation & I love just about every form of it (except cycling – I can’t stand sitting on those bike seats!)

  5. I love big dogs! We have had 2 bull mastiffs & currently have an American Mastiff named Boss. He is the biggest love.

  6. Not to introduce my dog over my children … but, I also have 3 boys.  They are awesome, even if they all look like my husband & not me.  I don’t mind not having a daughter – I actually always wanted 4 boys (yes, my husband counts as 1).

  7. Skiing is one of my biggest passions.  I didn’t ski as a kid, but my husband and I decided, starting with our first wedding anniversary more than 20 years ago, that we were going to be skiers.  And we are!  After living in Vail & owning a home in Vermont for 10 years, skiing is one of our favorite family activities.  In fact, it is the #1 thing that I feel successful at as a parent because it is one of the rare things that all 3 boys love & are good at.

  8. I almost attended Cornell’s School of Hotel Management, but at the last minute I decided to go to Princeton.  Considering I met my husband in college, it was definitely the right decision.  And in the end, I found my way back to my original passion of pursuing travel professionally.

  9. I wish I could spend a year – or even 2 months – traveling with my family.  A week scattered a few times throughout the year is simply not enough.  Nothing compares to the time spent with loved ones immersed in nature & removed from the day-to-day distractions.

  10. I have a list.  You need a list.  If you don’t have a list of the places you want to visit & the things you want to do in this world, how do you know what you’re reaching for? John Goddard said:

    “[t]he quality of your life

    depends on the quality on

    your list.”

And I 1000% agree.  Make your list today if you don’t have one. And update it frequently.

that’s me,

lora
